Hayden leads at slick Aragon
Initially delayed due to an oil spill in the previous Moto3 practice, the session was then held on a damp track, with only nine of the 21 riders recording a lap time - a near repeat of the free practice scenario last time at Misano.
Hayden (six laps), Rossi (seven laps) and satellite Desmosedici riders Hector Barbera (15 laps) and Karel Abraham (three laps) were the only manufacturer riders to set a lap time, the rest being privateer CRT competitors.
Hayden, who has the latest chassis to try this weekend, set a best lap of 2m 4.890s, which compares with the race record of 1m 49.046s.
The only bright side was for Yamaha's world championship leader Jorge Lorenzo, who was again able to save engine mileage due to the conditions. Lorenzo lost one of his six engines when he was taken out by Alvaro Bautista at Assen.
Lorenzo starts this weekend with a 38 point lead over Honda's Dani Pedrosa.
The factory Honda and Yamaha teams tested at Aragon earlier this month, along with LCR Honda's Stefan Bradl, which also explains why some riders were in no rush to ride this morning.
