Moto3: Oliveira stays top, Kent goes second
The Portuguese contender ended FP2 at the head of affairs after earlier topping FP1 this morning on his Suter Honda.
Oliveira and Adrian Martin both crashed in FP1, forcing the session to be terminated and causing a delay to the opening MotoGP and Moto2 practice slots as marshals worked to clear oil and debris from the track.
However, Estrella Galicia ace Oliveira – currently ninth in the championship standings – showed no ill-effects as he took the fastest lap in a time of 2m 16.726s from British rider Danny Kent, who was just 0.183s behind on his Red Bull KTM.
Zulfahmi Khairuddin was third quickest, 0.271s off Oliveira's best time, with series leader Sandro Cortese next on the Red Bull KTM, 0.758s behind in the soaking wet conditions.
Jasper Iwema (FGR Honda) and Luis Salom (Kalex KTM) rounded out the top six.
Cortese's title adversary, Maverick Vinales, was down in 13th position on the Avintia Blusens FTR Honda, almost two seconds in arrears.
Romano Fenati was 17th fastest with Alex Rins 22nd.
John McPhee ended the session in 21st position, despite slipping off his KRP Honda, while Mahindra Racing's Danny Webb concluded the afternoon in 30th.
