Casey Stoner confirms Motegi comeback
The Australian star revealed the news on his blog for Repsol.com.
Stoner, who will retire from motorcycling racing's top tier championship at the end of this season, wrote: “It's been another quiet week here in Australia, I've been resting, having some physio and following doctor's orders to recover.
“The good news is that I feel I can race in Motegi and will be re-joining my team next week and I can't wait to get back on track.
“Thanks for all the kind messages on this blog, I look forward to return in Motegi in front of all the Honda home fans.”
The Repsol Honda rider has been replaced by Northern Ireland's Jonathan Rea at the previous two rounds of the championship at Misano and Aragon.
He sustained a badly damaged right ankle following a high-side at Indianapolis and following surgery has been recuperating at home in Australia.
Stoner's chance of ending his final season in the sport by retaining the world crown has ended, but the 26-year-old will be gunning for more success at the final four rounds to end his career on a high.
Currently third in the championship table and 104 points behind Jorge Lorenzo with only 100 points in total up for grabs before the end of the campaign, Stoner could play a role in helping team-mate Dani Pedrosa challenge for the title.
Pedrosa is 33 points behind Lorenzo and closed the gap slightly following his victory at Aragon last weekend.
For Stoner, victory at his home round at Phillip Island on October 28 will be a top priority as he bids for an incredible sixth win on the trot in the Australian Grand Prix.
