Pedrosa targets fourth victory on trot

Dani Pedrosa heads to Phillip Island in Australia this weekend aiming to ramp up the pressure on MotoGP title favourite Jorge Lorenzo.

The Repsol Honda star has won the last three rounds to reduce Lorenzo's advantage to 23 points with two races remaining.

Pedrosa is the undisputed form man in the premier class at present and boasts a stunning record of five victories from his last six races.

However, he must rely on an error from Lorenzo to boost his chances of snatching the world crown from his rival's grasp.

Pedrosa, who toasted his two 250cc World Championship titles in 2004 and 2005 in Australia, has only one priority this weekend – to finish ahead of Lorenzo.

“Phillip Island is a great track, especially on these machines where you can usually see rear slides,” he said.

“The layout of the track makes racing very nice, so I hope we have good luck and that the bike is working well there also.

“I have very good memories from my championships back in 2004-2005 and I hope I can have a good race.”
