Pedrosa passes Hailwood for Honda wins

Wednesday, October 10, 2012
Dani Pedrosa's victory in the Aragon MotoGP was his 42nd in grand prix racing - all of which have been claimed with Honda machinery.

The result moves the Spaniard into the top three of all-time Honda grand prix winners, above the legendary Mike Hailwood.

Only Mick Doohan and Jim Redman have now won more races than Pedrosa for Honda.

Pedrosa has scored 257 points so far this season, which already beats his previous season-best of 249 points in 2008.

With four rounds of the 2012 season to go, Pedrosa is seeking to bridge a 33-point gap to Yamaha's championship leader Jorge Lorenzo and win his first premier-class crown.

Grand Prix wins with Honda machinery

1. Mick Doohan - 54 wins (all 500cc)

2. Jim Redman - 45 wins (2 x 500cc, 21 x 350cc, 18 x 250cc, 4 x 125cc)

3. Dani Pedrosa - 42 wins (19 x MotoGP, 15 x 250cc, 8 x 125cc)
