Hayden: Hard braking should suit our bike

Nicky Hayden hasn't finished on the Le Mans podium during his nine visits, and certainly isn't a fan of the French track, but the American believes the hard-braking areas could suit his Ducati GP12. The former world champion arrives at round four as the leading Ducati rider in terms of both race results and championship standings. Hayden has taken a best race finish of sixth for eighth overall, but is just one point ahead of team-mate Valentino Rossi. “I certainly wouldn't say Le Mans is my favourite track on the calendar, but there are some things that I like about it,” said Hayden. “Sometimes it lacks grip somewhat, which I don't like so much. On the other hand, it has a fair amount of hard braking, and I think some of those parts should suit our bike well. “It will also be interesting to be at a different type of track compared to what we've seen so far this year. “It's a shame we didn't get to test in Portugal because it certainly would have been nice to try a few things, but we'll get to France, see what kind of weather we get, and try to get a good result.” Hayden finished seventh at Le Mans last year, when Rossi took his only Ducati podium to date.
